In order to volunteer at school events (when students are not otherwise supervised by their parents/guardians) you MUST have a Rhode Island Background Check Investigation (BCI) on file with LINKS.  BCIs must be completed for each school year and are valid from July 1^st to June 30^th. 

To complete a BCI you will need the following:

• A copy of the BCI release form (see link below for a printable version) to be notarized at the event
• A front and back color copy of one of the following:  State Issued Driver’s License, State Issued ID card, or Passport.
• Check or money order for $5.00 payable to BCI.  NO CASH. 

The PTO will mail all documents and payment to the Attorney General’s office for BCI completion.
